Part 2 Part 2 was launched with patch 2.04. Various quality of life, bug fixes, and new agent Astra have been introduced in the new patch. Also included is a new voice tactical system. Details are in the article.

With the 2.04 patch notes of Valorant 's new update, Episode 2: Part 2 has officially started. Also, with the 2.04 patch update, Agent 15. Astra , a new Battle Pass , and Noble 2.0 weapon skin are included in the game. The developers intend to balance the game as much as possible for the rapidly approaching Valorant Challengers 3 . In this direction, one of the most important changes made in the new patch was the rework of the competitive inequality working system . Now all players from Iron 1 to Silver 3 can play together. In the Valorant 2.04 patch notes , the voice tactics system available in many FPS games  has been integrated into the game .   • Climb Mode

  • The teleporter exit doors on Bind are now permanently open.
  • Balanced Bind's pick rate to be on par with other maps.

♦ Competition Updates

  • Your skill rank will not be lowered at level starts.
    - If players have the rank of Radiant or Immortal, they will retain their position on the leaderboard, but your Rank score (HP) will be reduced by 90% and all Radiant players will be reduced to Immortal because in the new section players will have to prove that they are the best of the best.
    - To be Radiant now requires both being in the top 500 players in the player's region and having a minimum amount of KP.
    - Players will need to play a placement match for them to appear on the Leaderboard again in the new section.
  • You only need to play 1 placement match to view your ranking.
    - The amount of KP (and possible rank) may vary depending on your performance in the placement game, but the maximum change will depend on that game only.
  • Players who have not entered the Competitive division before in this Chapter will still need to play 5 placement games to earn their first place.
  • Reaching the radiant level will now be more difficult. Players must reach a certain KP level before they can be upgraded to Radiant. This value was determined for each region based on the number of players in the tier and the distribution of KP.

Regional requirements to qualify for Radiant:

Latin America and South Korea: 100 KP
Brazil: 200 KP
North America and Asia-Pacific: 300 KP
Europe: 400 KP

  • The leaderboard will be briefly disabled for maintenance early this patch, expected to be re-enabled in 24-48 hours.
  • Later in the season, Riot will reduce the overall average KP per win and loss by 5 points to try and improve MMR in competitive matches.
  • You can now queue up with a larger group of friends and teammates if you're at lower ranks.
  • During this patch, the relegation logic for players will now be changed to start at 70 KP (Previously 80 KP).
  • Ranks will no longer be displayed in agent selection or in-game. Players can still see the rankings on the end game screen.
  • If you're at lower tiers, you'll now be able to create ready-made groups by queuing up with more friends of different tiers.

♦ Quality of Life Update 

  • Added audio tactical descriptions.
  • By optimizing inventory management, Client framerate has been increased by an average of 3% for medium to high spec machines in 10 player games.
  • Location names have also been added to auto-triggered agent lines in the game to improve team coordination and information sharing.
    - Lines such as " Spike detected " or " Enemies spotted " are now changed to " Spike seen from position C " or " Enemy spotted at position B ".
  • Added an option to embed tactical voiceover messages in the chat window.
    - These settings are available under Accessibility options. When the setting is enabled, a chat message will be sent conveying the information when audio tactical descriptions are triggered. Chat messages have been modified to best convey who said what. For example, instead of verbally saying “ Enemy seen at B ”, Sova will read “ Sova B spotted an enemy at location ” in the chat message.

Audio Tactical Descriptions FAQ:

  • Audio tactical descriptions will not be enabled in mods.
  • Audio tactical descriptions can be turned on or off.
  • Voice tactical explanations can be turned on or off during voice chat.
  • Voice tactical descriptions can be turned on or off in the text chat screen.

Riot Games said about audio tactical descriptions: " We hope to provide richer information to the player with these changes, " he said, adding: " Audio tactical descriptions are not intended to replace voice communications, so when a teammate is talking over VOIP, the volume of callouts will be reduced.   • Fixed tension when using ghost mode modifier in custom games
    - Character now moves more smoothly without fixed motion fixes.
  • Fixed an issue where using Brimstone's Sky Smoke immediately after acquiring an Ultimate orb would cause ability stacks to be lost and the smoke to not be deployed.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the custom game server dropdown to loop endlessly.
  • Fixed Reyna's Spirit Sphere feedback triggering when helping non-players to kill.
  • Fixed Reyna's Soul Orb timer not properly syncing with her actual duration.
  • Fixed a bug that caused Omen to be pushed into the wall when teleporting with Omen's Stealth Step into narrow corridors created by Sage's wall.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the ultimate instant notifications for Killjoy, Cypher, Brimstone, Sage, Breach, Jett, and Viper to work.
