Rockstar Shut Down GTA and RDR 2 Online Servers to Honor George Floyd
Servers were down for 2 hours, details are in the article
Rockstar Games has temporarily closed access to online modes of its biggest games, GTA V's Grand Theft Auto Online and Red Dead Redemption 2's Red Dead Online apps temporarily for two hours to show support and honor Black Lives Matter with George Floyd closed to honor . The servers for both games were back online, but remained down between 11am PT and 1pm PT.

Alongside the gesture, Rockstar asked Twitter followers to form a charity where they can donate to show support for black communities, businesses, and civil rights. Charities on the list include broader civil rights groups such as the NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund, the National Institute for Black Child Development and the Equal Justice Initiative, and the American Civil Liberties Union Foundation.

Rockstar is the latest gaming company to support the Black Lives Matter movement through words, actions or direct donations. Sony has delayed the June 4 PS5 rollout to pay homage to the recent protests, and events for other multiplayer games have also been postponed.
