A new event mode has been activated in Playerunknown's Battlegrounds . Developer PUBG Corp. Activated the Metal Rain mode for a limited time, which will only be available in the popular battle royale game for a limited time .
Metal Rain is an eight-player Squad mode found on PUBG 's original map, Erangel . This time, the flare gun can "randomly spawn in normal loot zones" as opposed to fixed points. Firing the flare gun in the safe zone will throw a special drop; however, firing outside the area will bring a special vehicle, the armored UAZ, into your area with air support.
Metal Rain is available for up to 96 players, divided into 12 teams of 8 players. You can invite up to seven friends to form a team. You also have the option to disable automatic matchmaking if you prefer to play with a team of eight. Metal Rain will be available throughout the weekend only and will end at 11 PM (4 AM CEST on April 23) on Sunday, April 22.
On the other hand, PUBG Corp. recently announced that it is working on a map selection feature for this game . This feature will be available on the test server "soon" and will give players a choice when starting a game whether they prefer to play on Erangel or the new Miramar . If the player chooses both maps, then the game randomly chooses between them.
PUBG Corp. has revealed more about Codename: Savage, the third map in development for the game, which has just entered the second round of testing earlier this week . Savage is 4x4 as opposed to 8x8 as it is much smaller than PUBG 's other two maps, but another distinguishing feature of the map is that it has an underground cave system . Game creator Brendan Greene also stated that PUBG could make more 4x4 (or possibly larger) maps of the future.
