Epic Games ' incredibly popular Fortnite: Battle Royale game will make its mobile debut earlier this year after conquering home consoles and PC , but so far, the game will only be available for iOS devices. However, that doesn't seem to be the case for much longer.
In a "Mobile Status" update on its official website, Epic announced that Fortnite: Battle Royale is targeting a summer release for the Android version. The developer didn't provide any further details, saying, "We know many of you are excited about this release, and when we have more information to share, We promise you'll let us know first."
Fornite for mobile started working on iOS in March; However, the game will initially only be available to users who qualify to participate in the closed iOS test. By registering on Epic 's website, those with an iOS device will receive an email with an invitation, making both the invitee and a friend access the game. Fortnite would officially launch on iOS in April, but so far, Epic hasn't shared any concrete plans for when the Android version will arrive.
In addition to the Android version , Epic has covered some of the features and improvements it's currently working on for the mobile version of Fortnite . Among them, the developer plans to make voice chat for the game. This will allow players to chat with their teammates regardless of what platform they are playing on.
Along with these quality improvements, Epic is working to further optimize the game's performance on mobile devices. The studio plans to add a Battery Saver mode that offers higher performance if gamers choose to lower the graphics quality. Epic said it's constantly working to fix crashes and other technical issues.
