The release date of World of Warcraft 's latest expansion, Battle for Azeroth , has remained a mystery since its announcement. We knew it would last until mid-September but now Blizzard has confirmed that it will be released for the PC platform on August 14, 2018 .
Battle for Azeroth will be different from other Warcraft expansions, as it brings a new emphasis to the clash of Blizzard Alliance and Horde . The new faction takes players into new areas to amass naval resources from the two factions' own islands, Zandalar (Horde) and Kul Tiras (Alliance), while advancing the story.
The expansion also adds 10 dungeons, new Raid zones, and new world quests. There's also something called Warfronts , which is a 20-player PvE mode similar to classic RTS games. You will try to build a significant force and attack targets and make deals with enemy commanders.
The level cap for your character will be 120, and purchasing the expansion will grant you level 110 boost for use with a new or existing toon. There are also new playable allied races; The Horde Highmountain will gain access to the Tauren and Nightborne races , while the Alliance Lightforged receives the Draenei and Void Elves .
Blizzard has also confirmed that it will be offering a Collector's Edition for Battle for Azeroth alongside the Standard and Digital Deluxe Edition . It will include a hardcover novel, soundtrack, and more.
