Valorant's competitive mode requires a significant amount of work when it comes to balancing the gaming experience.
In previous discussions, players have revealed that the ranked system has become an ordeal and that high elo players are demotivating by creating smurf accounts.
What's more, the current LP gains/losses and low elo smurfing issues that are in the game pose a plethora of issues for those who take their competitive matches seriously.
Needless to say, the Valorant community is not entirely happy with the way things are handled in the game's ranked mode, and many have used social media platforms like Reddit to explain some of their frustrations with the game. In a recent post on the platform, Valorant player fiascolan_ai sheds light on some of the issues Riot 's shooter is facing with competitive match mode. The Redditor thinks that most of the smurfing issues in the game are due to existing issues with ranked mode and Riot should fix this as soon as possible.

“Forcing players to be in 3 rows led to smurf accounts that came with more. I used to play regularly with my group of friends and we were ranked 6th so we only played on our main accounts. We all have smurf accounts now because we are almost never in row 3. "
To fix some post matchmaking issues , Riot recently made changes in competitive mode to only allow a player to queue up with friends that are within 3 rows of each other. Apparently this caused more problems than the solution. And the changes have taken Valorant's smurf pandemic to a whole new level.
In the same Reddit post by fiascolan_ai, another Valorant player offered a workable solution to the ranked issue that is currently breaking the competitive integrity of the game.

" Riot Games need to change the rank requirement from 10 games to 10 wins, this will remove the importance of matches to keep rank low and let people start closer to their true skill because Smurfs want to play ranked ASAP. I feel bad for my teammate who is Iron, almost every game There's a Smurf who gets 40 kills."
Valorant doesn't punish bad players as much as they should. This leads to many players intentionally kicking matches or picking Raze and killing everyone on the team just to score matches and rank up. Smurfs use this method a lot in their alternate accounts and cannot rise in the rankings. Surprisingly, Riot 's own game maker " npcSara " responded to this comment and confirmed that the balance team is working on a fix for this issue and "will do so in the next patch" . Valorant's 1.13 patch , both matchmaking and rankedIt might bring a lot of balance changes to the game in terms of the LP system. What's more, it could be the last patch before Part 2 launches in January 2021.
