Valorant is officially out of closed beta, but players who are part of the early access period or focused on streams may be surprised that the Ranked competitive mode, which is offered alongside the default unrated game mode after a major update, is missing. According to Riot, this was done both to give new players a chance to learn about the game before being matched up against players playing the beta who could gain an advantage, and to make sure the mod is stable and working properly. Competitor will be added back with "a few patches" after the time has passed to make some adjustments. Similar to games like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Valorant's Competitive mode was also enabled after it was added to the beta version. From there, players can start playing for a competitive ranking that serves as a reflection of their current skill level and affects how Valorant's matchmaking system matches them up with other players in the future ranking. However, everything about Valorant's ranking system is not finalized as the game is still new.
