Valorant 's dev team has made it a priority from the very beginning to offer players new weapon skins. Weapon skins are finely crafted, their animations are meticulously crafted and designed with the effect of a final hit. Previous weapon skins were generally more colorful and with fun themes. The dev team will now bring a more realistic feel to Valorant. The Special Operations weapon skin set has been a work that approaches real-life weapons, both in name and design. After the Sakura set, which was released with the previous patch, players will meet with a more serious name and more realistic weapons. The star of the set is Butterfly Knife, which the community has been waiting for a long time.
Reminiscent of games like PUBG, Counter-Strike, and Rainbow Six, new Special Operations skins are out as a set in the Premium Edition lineup. Besides the weapon variants, players will also be able to experience the final strike animation. However, players will need to upgrade their Radianite Points (RP) in Valorant to get these animations . For example, 10 RP is required for butterfly knife animation.

Weapon levels
The Special Operations weapon set includes four levels that players can complete to upgrade their weapons;
Level 1: Custom interchangeable design and ADS sight
Level 2: Random auxiliary attachment to the weapon
Level 3: Random base attachment to weapon
Level 4: Kill Banner
These levels are one of the new features brought to Valorant. We can say that it is a detail related to the designs of the weapons. The randomness of these add-ons is designed to make you feel like you're playing with a new weapon every time you use the weapon skin. It will be healthier to see these add-ons on the field, in the hands of the players. Because, even if the differences are minimal, add-ons can make one weapon more advantageous than the other.
Sean Marino, art director from the developer team, made the following statement about the Special Operations Collection and Balisong Butterfly Knife :
Recon was a set of skins that players had been waiting for for a long time. One of the main reasons for this is the butterfly knife attachment. We have always known that the butterfly knife has been eagerly awaited by players for a long time. Now we think it's incredible that we're finally bringing it to the players. We have done a thorough and meticulous study of the Butterfly Knife. We watched butterfly knife flip videos for their animations. We looked at how these animations are placed in other games. Exploring this for us was an overall tremendous experience. Day by day, we took care to maintain the balance that the animations of the weapon are interesting enough and not exaggerated. After preparing all the animations, it was a lot of fun for us to watch the actors pull out their knives and turn them in their hands.
