Less than two weeks after its release, the game has skyrocketed on Steam, boasting more than 450,000 simultaneous players, leaving games like GTA 5, PUBG, and Rust behind. From what we've tracked, this success was in the early weeks, as publisher collaborations, player support, and excellent user reviews likely contributed to its massive early success. The record for the most concurrent players on Steam is currently in Dota 2 and CS: GO.
