It didn't take long for Valorant to become one of the most popular first-person shooters in the industry since its release . The game soon became a huge trend among creators, streamers and gamers. That said, Riot Games has many plans to further develop Valorant, and fans are pretty excited about the game's future.
Recently, there was a Ask Valorant session where players could ask questions from the developers about the current state of the game and their future plans, and the answers to these questions revealed some important information about the upcoming features of the game.

When a player asked if Valorant could get a map pick/ban system in the future, the developers made it clear that they have no such plans for the current competitive game mode, but they want to explore this option in game mode . Although the upcoming Tournament mode is an ongoing project, the developers believe a map pick/ban system could be suitable for the Tournament , but nothing is guaranteed yet.
Looking at Valorant's current competitors in the industry, such as CS:GO and Rainbow Six Siege, both feature a map pick/ban system in competitive modes that allows players to try their pre-planned strategies on their favorite maps instead of spending them.
This becomes even more important when a game needs to take on esports events. Until now , Valorant only had Twitch Rivals as esports tournaments , but given how many professional players are involved with this project, it's not surprising to see the game get its own esports tournaments with official teams and sponsors in the future.
