The popular battle royale game was suspended in Nepal in April 2019. The game was banned by Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) due to concerns about its negative impact on youth. Authorities stated that this game is addictive to children and young people. They had asked ISPs to block PUBG Mobile access in the country. However, just days after its suspension, the game's ban was lifted by the Nepalese High Court. In July, Pakistan Telecommunications Authorities (PTA) temporarily suspended the game due to concerns similar to those in Nepal. PTA stated that they received numerous complaints that the game is addictive and negatively affects the psychological and physical health of young people. A few weeks after the ban, the Islamabad High Court instructed the authorities to lift the ban, and the suspension was lifted after a meeting between PTA and Proxima Beta Ltd (PB) representatives on 30 July. Although the situation in China is completely different, the game has not been approved by the Chinese authorities. This meant that it could only be offered as a public test, but not for monetization, meaning no in-app purchases.
