Survival mode released in beta on PC
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition is releasing a new mode. Survival mode makes the game more challenging with three main elements: hunger, fatigue and inclement weather.
Hunger affects stamina and your ability to wield the most weapons. “As you go into starvation, your total stamina will decrease, showing a dark region on the stamina bar,” Bethesda said.
Eating will restore your strength, and if you eat enough, you will receive a bonus called "Good Feed". Another thing to know is that cooked foods bring back your hunger more than uncooked food. If you eat raw meat it can cause food poisoning; this prevents you from reaping the health benefits until the poison is gone.
Another important element of Skyrim's new Survival mode is fatigue. If you don't rest from time to time, the effectiveness of your potions will decrease, and your ability to protect things like stamina and magic will decrease. To optimize fatigue levels, you need to sleep in a bed; Sleeping outdoors provides only partial recovery from fatigue.
The third pillar of Survival mode is the weather. When it starts to cool in Skyrim , you'll need to stack. If you don't, your current total health will decrease and over time your movement speed and abilities such as locking will decrease. If you are unlucky enough to see your health drop to zero, you will die after exposure. To stay warm, you need to wear armor that shows temperature values in their description. Additionally, you can eat hot soup or hold a torch to raise its temperature for a certain period of time.
Look at the map above to see which regions are hot and cold; The map also displays the locations of places where you can heal yourself.
PC players can try out Survival mode on Steam now by entering the Steam beta. Xbox One and PS4 users can check it out "early next month". Bethesda also said that the mod will be released later in the week of launch on each platform, as it thinks the mod will carry a price tag.
In other Skyrim news, the game is launching for Nintendo Switch in November .
