Valorant has been fully released since the summer, and fans still love the game's content. Riot Games does a great job of keeping everything fresh and providing regular updates with new items in the store. Recently, we saw the release of Episode I Act III with a new map, Icebox, and a new Agent Skye. Alongside this, a number of new cosmetics have been released in both the Battle Pass and the in-game store. All this content is what makes Valorant what it is today. But what if we could look back at the early stages of the game's development? Would we still want to keep today's content, or would there be some primitive content included in the game? A Look at Valorant Before Developing

Frankly, Valorant was just an idea, and it's changed direction dozens of times since what we see today. Some agents did not see the light of day, they were shelved, the maps were redesigned and the concepts were very ambitious. It seems that for the most part, Riot Games had a vision and always went in that direction. We know this because of some early concept art for the game. Images released due to artist Atey Ghailan leaving Riot Games and taking his work with him. After that happened, four screenshots of early Valorant concept art were released to the world.

As you can see from the pictures, the relative ideals don't seem to have changed. Riot Games had a vision for the training ground map, weapons, and Agents we see today. We can also see early appearances of Omen, Cypher, Sage and other Agents. However, there are also never-before-seen characters, as in the lower left screenshot. It's pretty clear that he's an Agent who throws some kind of dark cloud in the form of a hurricane. Of course, today ValorantWe don't have such an Agent in , so this is probably a shelved character. Also, in the top right screenshot, there is a giant ice strike in the center of a map. We haven't seen this map in-game yet, so it's probably a shelved concept on this map. It's unlikely we'll see any of this never-before-seen content, but it's still great to look back and see where Valorant started.
