PC RPG Divinity: Original Sin 2 has nearly hit 500K sales since its release

Divinity: Original Sin II  came out a few days ago, but has been in Steam Early Access for almost a year. Now, publisher and developer Larian Studios is sharing some sales data that tells Eurogameer that the game has sold around 500,000 copies in total . 180,000 of these sales have been on sale since version 1.0 on September 14.

" We're very close to selling 500,000 units, which is  a number I believe took two or three months with  Divinity: Original 1, " said Swen Vincke, owner of Larian Studios . The game also hit a milestone in terms of simultaneous players on Steam, reaching nearly 86,000 players at a time. At the time of this writing, it was the fourth most played game on Steam. Vincke said she had an unexpected response in her reply to Eurogamer. The servers struggled to handle the large number of players, but he said "we need to increase the server capacity as there will be more players soon".

Vincke has commented on possible console releases in the future. The company said it's waiting to see how the game sells on PC before deciding to release it on other systems  , noting that it remains the focus of this PC release at the moment.

"As for the console versions, we're now focused on delivering our first patch for the PC version, something planned for this week. Lots of players coming in and lots of support issues, we're trying to serve them quickly.
