Overwatch's Experimental Cards Revealed

Overwatch's Experimental Cards Revealed
Buffs Reinhardt, nerfs Baptiste; Now it's pull time...

If Overwatch's latest Experimental Card is successful, the Reinhardt mains could finally make it to the top of the food chain. December 3 experimental tests sizeable buffs to the tank, including increased armor and damage. More changes are coming to the tank line as D.Va's health and armor have been reworked to bring back some of her former stamina.

Baptiste has been experiencing a ranked respawn lately, but if this Experimental Pass makes its way to live servers, that timeframe may be over. The ultimate, Amplification Matrix, got a buff recently, but will now cost more to use.

As always, these changes are only experimental and may not occur on global Overwatch servers in their current state.

Hero changes

Reinhardt

Base Armor increased from 200 to 250.

Rocket Hammer damage increased from 75 to 85.

The age of glory, justice and Reinhardt may be returning. This Experimental Card gives Reinhardt a big boost to his armor, making him more resistant to damage. The basic melee ability Rocket Hammer is also getting a minor upgrade. "Increased Rocket Hammer damage will reduce the number of swings required to eliminate some heroes," the developers said. With two swings, Reinhardt can now eliminate low-health heroes or glass balls like Tracer.

D.Va

Changed health and health, redistributed from 200 armor and 400 health to 300 armor and 300 health.

While this is a minor change for D.Va, an increase in armor means her mechanic can withstand a greater amount of bullet damage or beams from heroes like Zarya. A small boost that could bring him back into the competitive arena.

Immortality Field health reduced from 200 to 150.

Amplification Matrix final cost increased by 15 percent.

After receiving a number of buffs in the last few live patches, Baptiste is now feeling the pain of suggested nerds. Amplification Matrix now takes 15 percent longer to charge. That sounds like a lot, but the proposed change is actually an overhaul for the September patch that lowers the cost.

The biggest change for Baptiste is his primary ability, the Health of the Field of Immortality. A 50 health drop means enemy players can destroy an Immortality Field faster, leaving Baptiste and his allies vulnerable to destruction by ultimates.

These changes can be tested on the Experimental Card available on Overwatch's homepage. Changes will be tested using the sequential role queue ruleset to best mimic the atmosphere in which they will be used.
