After a one-year Epic Games Store deal , Metro Exodus is coming back to Steam on February 15th ! The Steam version was previously only available for those who pre-ordered the game prior to the Epic Games Store deal. The wider Steam release announcement was made via the game's official Twitter page and is scheduled to launch at midnight. While this will be the first time the game has been purchased on Steam since launch, updates and expansions are still available for those who purchased the game on Steam before it was moved to the Epic Games Store. The second expansion, Sam's Story, launches on February 11.
When the first Epic Games Store deal was announced, publisher Deep Silver drew backlash from players who wanted to buy the game only on Steam. However, Koch Media, the parent company of Deep Silver, was pleased with the decision, with CEO Klemens Kunda saying that the company is happy with Exodus' commercial performance.
