The LPL regional qualifiers and various regions' Summer Split season ended today. Thus, we have three more teams qualified to participate in the League of Legends 2022 World Championship .
Royal Never Give Up: LPL
Royal Never Give Up (RNG) faced off against LNG Esports for the LPL fourth starting spot. Both teams had a great fight and fans caught a streak of Silver Scrapes between them. It was RNG that went above LNG and qualified for LoL Worlds 2022 . They will be placed in the Play-In stage of the tournament, fourth out of the LPL region.
DetonatioN FocusMe: LJL Winner
When it comes to Japan, only one League of Legends team has represented this region on the international stage lately . Team DetonatioN FocusMe (DFM) and they have booked their place at Worlds again this year.
DFM beat Sengoku Gaming in the 2022 LJL Summer grand finals to qualify for the World Championship as well as the title. They will need to compete and perform well in the Play-In if they want to qualify for the Group Stage.
Chiefs Esports Club: LCO Winner
Team Chiefs Esports Club from the Oceania region qualified for the 2022 World Championship . Defeated Pentanet.GG in the grand final of LCO Split 2 2022. In addition to winning the regional championship, Chief Esports also reached the Play-In stage of the Worlds tournament.
Together with these three new teams, the total number of teams qualified to participate in LoL Worlds 2022 is 22. Thus, there are only 2 more teams left to participate in the biggest League of Legends tournament of the year .
The League of Legends World Championship 2022 will take place from September 29 to November 5.
Qualifiers: September 29 - October 4, Arena Esports Stadium, Artz Pedregal, Mexico City/Mexico.
Group Stage: October 7-10 and October 13-16, Hulu Theater, Madison Square Garden, New York/USA.
Quarter Finals: October 20-23, Hulu Theatre, Madison Square Garden, New York/USA.
Semi-Finals: October 29-30, State Farm Arena, Atlanta, Georgia/USA.
Final: November 6, Chase Center, San Francisco, California/USA.
