Finally, League of Legends Season 13 has arrived. After a short break for the New Year holiday, Riot Games developers are returning with patches every two weeks to update the ever-changing LoL meta. The first is patch 13.1 notes, which will kick off the 2023 season in earnest . There are champion changes, item tweaks as usual, and veteran Summoner's Rift warrior Jax is getting a mid-range update to modernize his kit and bring him back into the metagame.
Buckle up for a tough year, the next League ranked season is officially scheduled to start on Tuesday, January 10. Riot said it will split the ranked season into two in 2023, with new ranks and rewards for each episode.
Alongside the gameplay changes, Riot Games is expected to release entirely new variant skins during the first January patch cycle.
Medium updates, item buffs and debuffs, and much more are currently being tested on the LoL PBE server. LoL patch 13.1 will be the first patch of 2023 and there are already some promising updates coming. The actual start of the ranked season will also be announced soon.

After initially releasing a midrange update for Jax and Rell, the Riot Games development team has finally given players the deadline for Gun Master changes. According to Riot Phlox, the new-looking Jax will arrive in Summoner's Rift on Tuesday, January 10, with 13.1 champion changes.
Q — AP ratio removed (was 60 percent).
E — Damage reduced from 55-155 physical damage (+50 percent bonus AD) to 55-175 + 4 percent max health (+100 percent AD) magic damage. E ability damage bonus per attack avoided changed from 20 percent of total damage to 20 percent of base damage.
R (Passive) — reduced from 100/140/180 (+70 percent AP) to 100-150 (+60 percent AP). Added new visual effects and sound effects related to this passive ability.
R (Active) — NEW: Now deals 150-350 (100 percent AD) magic damage in a wide arc. If a champion is hit, Jax gains 10-40 (+0.1 bonus AD) armor and magic resist. Also gains 14-22 (+0.1 Bonus AD) armor and magic resist per champion hit for eight seconds. During these eight seconds, passive damage is inflicted on every second attack rather than every third attack.
The Riot Games development team hopes to expand items for mages in 2023, and this new project kicks off in the first patch of the new year.
Four champions will join these empowered items, including Shaco, and he's enjoying his attack power.

According to Riot's patch calendar , the first update of 2023 will be released on Tuesday, January 10. There will be a few hours of downtime after the patch starts. Matchmaking and competitive queues will be disabled on all LoL servers three hours before the update is officially released and goes live .
