League of Legends World Championship 2022 will take place in North America this year; Mexico City, Toronto and New York will be the main venues for the big event. The 2022 Mid-Season Invitational will run from May 10 to May 29. The announcementwas officially made by Riot Games via Twitter so we can get excited for all the MSI coverage!
The Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) is one of League's biggest events featuring the best teams from each region. Last year, Riot also pulled out the play-in phase of the event, giving teams another chance to prove themselves. Exciting pairings included DetonatioN FocusMe and DAMWON KIA.
The Rumble stage is over and now the last 4 best teams in MSI 2022 will compete in the qualifying stage of the tournament. There will be a single qualifier group and the best five matches will be played. The two best teams among them will advance to the finals to be played on 29 May 2022.

Last year, both Gwen and Viego from League of Legends champions were disabled for MSI. Because in order to be played in the next international tournament, New Champions and VGUs must be activated for playoffs in all four top regions. Zeri and Renata Glasc were released earlier in the year, so we think they'll be playable during the event.
Since its debut, Zeri has gained immense popularity in the professional arenas. It's also seen play in all regions and multiple venues, making it a pretty cool pick to see on the international stage as well.
In a recent broadcast, T1 CEO Joe Marsh was talking to LS and accidentally revealed the location of the incident. LoL MSI 2022 will be held in Busan, South Korea.
“I hope I'm in Busan because they're coming during MSI… I hope I'm in Busan”.
The speech was also confirmed by Riot Games on Twitter. The country is hosting an MSI and esports event for the first time since the World Championship in 2018 .
LCL has not been able to play the 2022 Spring Split and will therefore not send a representative to MSI. The LPL representative will participate online from the LPL Arena in Shanghai, China, or at team facilities due to COVID-19 regulations.
