League of Legends LCK Spring Split kicks off on January 13. With the 10.23 patch , Riot Games brought many meta changes to the game so that it is not affected in professional arenas. Specifically, with the upcoming update, changing how the items in the game and champion items are made were among the targeted improvements.
Regarding the issue, the LCK Korean League said in a post on its Twitter account:
We hope the expanded format will provide a more exciting playoff experience and give players more experience to use on the international stage.
LCK has undergone a rebranding and format change this year. League of Legends fans are excited to see who comes out on top in the world's most dominant region. Many teams have had many roster changes as well, and even world champions DAMWON Gaming have replaced top laner Jang "Nuguri" Ha-Gwon with Kim "Khan" Dong-ha. With Khan in the top lane, DAMWON will be aiming to be dominant just like last year.
