With patch 1.10 , Valorant Act 3 brought a new map with Agent and weapon meta, along with a bunch of changes.
Valorant Act 3 had a lot of hype surrounding its arrival. Riot Games not only announced a new Agent for patch 1.11, but also released Icebox for live servers well ahead of schedule.
But did it live up to expectations?
Probably not, because the majority of the Valorant community is out with pitchforks regarding the current state of the game.
Act 3 was a "hit and miss" for Riot Games , according to the cast. The developers were currently not only dealing with bugs and registry issues, but also trying to deal with some of the more pressing issues that still plague the game.
In a Reddit post, SliverPrincev said:
"I'm sorry I have to go from a developer appreciation stage to the criticism stage. Valorant desperately needs a PBE. Even Riot Ziegler admitted that new patches are unstable."
League of Legends has its own PBE client and PBE servers that developers use to test new changes before launching for official servers . This allows LOL developers to pre-fix bugs and glitches and has become an integral part of the champion and item balance system over the years.
Having a similar system , Valorant will help developers test their patches before shipping, thus avoiding many of the issues the game is currently facing. SilverPrincev presents some interesting points about what is ruining the Valorant experience for players at the moment .
The in-game "hang" issue that Valorant Act 3 brought to servers was not specific to a region and players around the world were facing this issue. Riot Games has often emphasized the competitive honesty they want Valorant to have. Unfortunately, more than hackers and cheats, it is these errors that jeopardize the fairness of the game.
Bullet hit recording on Valorant has become an issue on 128 tick servers since day one of their official launch. Almost 5 months later, the problem seems as persistent as ever and has probably been exacerbated by the latest visual lag bug.
Not being able to select a specific map during Unrated and Competitive matchmaking is a nightmare.
With the release of Icebox , Valorant players are more inclined to pick up the new map when they queue up. Icebox is a bit complex compared to other maps in the game, but many players will naturally want to play the map as much as possible.
The problem arises when some players start getting out of line when they don't have the Icebox, which significantly ruins the gaming experience for users who want to play Valorant for the sake of it.
Valorant patch 1.10 brought some quality-of-life changes for the observer tool that really smoothed out some of the rough edges the wheels had encountered so far. However, not all changes were positive, and players are especially critical of the new flash effect.
The flash effect now just renders a black screen for observers and that's what most people feel pointless. The essence of the observer lies in his ability to see beyond flash animation. Wouldn't substituting a black screen for the original flash effect invalidate the purpose?
The higher you climb on Valorant's competitive food chain, the longer it will take you to find a match. Sometimes the queue times are so long that players either leave the game for a while or just open a smurf account.
There have been cases where even pro players have made smurf accounts in Valorant. After reaching the rank of radiant , players usually do not enjoy any more on their main account, causing them to create a secondary smurf account.
Players are waiting for Riot to fix all these bugs.
