Battlefield Portal lets you use game elements from any game in the series to create custom game modes. These mods are free for everyone, from rocket launchers to knife wielders, from soldier and class systems in 1942 to modern warfare in 2042. DICE designed the Portal editor to be simple to use in a web browser, but there are thousands of variables that can be logically accessed and edited during the game mode creation process.
Let's take a closer look at how to create your own game mode in Battlefield Portal.
Your EA account must be in good standing to start creating your own custom game in Battlefield 2042 Portal mode . So if you have any ban on your account due to cheating or malicious behavior in any game, you may not be able to use this mod.
Launch the Battlefield Portal web app, at the top of the screen you have the option to customize prebuilt Battlefield 1942, Bad Company 2 or Battlefield 3 experiences. If you want to use the Battlefield 2042 tools or create a mod that uses multiple aspects of each game, click the "Create Something New" button in the lower left. On the bottom panel of the screenyou will see an area based on Battlefield game modes . There are maps assigned to all of these options, choose the mode you want to play. After selecting any mode, you can go back and make changes to the settings.
If you decide to change a pre-existing game mode in Battlefield Portal , you will be presented with a map selection screen. After selecting the basic game options such as maps, maximum number of players and character limit per squad, you can switch to the Modifiers menu. Battlefield Portal Logic Editor is similar in structure to a powerful programming language so be sure to save your work before trying the editor for the first time as it's very easy to break your game mode. If you're not careful, your mod's elements may stop working and even crash your server, causing too many bugs in Logic Editor.
If you're playing Battlefield 2042 during peak gaming hours, you may have received the following message when creating your server: 'global game quota exceeded'. This error means that the server slots are currently full, preventing players from making their own game mods. Creators don't have the option to host private servers outside of the server browser, so if you get this message try playing in a quieter time. Aware of this issue, DICEis trying to create more server space specifically for Battlefield Portal .Due to the rapid progress of Server Farms, DICE has decided to stop players from earning experience points in Battlefield Portal. It is currently unclear whether this is a permanent solution or if progress will return to this mode in the future.
