Viper may be Valorant's least used Agent. Valorant players don't pick the Viper as much as other Agents. This is real.
Talents and skills are no problem. The problem was that it took too long for Riot Games to make it useful. When Valorant launched, Viper had plenty of potential.
Eventually this potential was tapped, but other Agents also received changes that continue to make them more viable. Players are still finding reasons why Viper wasn't over-rated.
A recent discussion on Reddit noted that Viper's effects on the game did not give the player any points in the assists column.

Assists aren't the most important stat in Valorant , but they definitely show up when someone is a team player. Someone with a lot of assists may not kill, but it clearly shows that he is a supportive player. Viper can really help a team with his abilities , but he can't get support status recognition. Support points are awarded to several Agents based on their abilities.
Examples include Cypher getting assists when a teammate eliminates a player trapped in Traps, and Sage getting assisted when a player who has been resurrected or healed by Sage dies.
Viper's three abilities correspond to an effect known as Decay. Venom Cloud, Venom Veil, and Ultimate, Viper's Lair, reduce enemy health while in Poison.
While this Venom is active and the opponent does not restore health, Viper does not receive assist points if that player is killed by an ally. Compared to other Valorant Agents, it's a terrible observation.
Viper is an agent that can realistically lock zones and build walls with smoke. No one seems to care about him due to the indifference shown by Riot Games . It is extremely unfortunate that such a unique Agent was so easily cast aside. This is another reason why Viper sees almost no selection in Valorant's competitive matches.
