Actor Steve Downes voiced Master Chief in the Halo series and it looks like he will continue with Halo Infinite. During E3, Downes strongly stated on Twitter that he would be bringing back the super soldier voice in 343's upcoming game.
The Xbox Twitter account asked Halo fans, "Are you ready to get back to work?" asked. “I was born ready,” Downes replied. While unconfirmed, it looks like Downes will be returning to play Chief again.
In 2015, just before the launch of Halo 5: Guardians , Downes sent out a tweet that might sound like he's retiring from the Halo franchise. He retired as a radio host that same year, so it's believed by some that Downes stepped back from professional work, including Halo .
Luckily, it looks like it's making its way back to Halo at least once more . We followed Microsoft to get more details on Downes' involvement in Halo Infinite .
What we do know about Halo Infinite is that it's a more Master Chief- centric storytelling , which is good news after Halo 5 diverged from it. According to Xbox marketing boss Aaron Greenberg, it's the "bigger and bolder" Halo game that will return to the roots of the Infinite Halo franchise.
A release date for Halo Infinite has yet to be set, but it looks like it won't be available anytime soon. The game has a new art style and is taking "new and unexpected directions", with 343 noting that we might get early access in beta testing.
