The PS5 Reveal Event took place on June 11 and Rockstar Games came up with a big announcement at the start of the event. What disappointed fans was that there was no news of the much anticipated GTA VI, but a trailer for the 'Extended and Enhanced' version of GTA V coming to PS5 in 2021. Red Dead Redemption 2 came out in 2018 as the studio's final work and has been a big part of the studio's growth.
Kotaku 's report suggested that GTA VI could be a smaller game at launch, with updates like GTA: Online. Reports suggested that the game was in early development as of April 2020.
1) GTA VI will be set in Vice City , a South American city and part of Liberty City
Fans have been demanding a return to Vice City in the game since the release of GTA: Vice City in 2002. Although the news has not been confirmed by Rockstar, it seems almost certain that the game will take place in a city inspired by Miami.
It will also feature a South American city area inspired by Rio de Janeiro in Brazil and some playable areas of Liberty City (similar to the Ludendorff level in GTA V).
Rockstar and other studios have talked about the complexities and issues with a game set in modern times and how it's dated over time. Therefore, a return to the 80s on the cards seems likely. This will be extremely well received by fans who previously loved Rockstar's take on the 80s with Gcks: Vice City and GTA: Vice City Stories. There are rumors that Rockstar is abandoning the multi-hero build of GTA V. This means that GTA VI can only have one hero in the game.
Here is another of the interesting rumors:
Narcos was one of Netflix's most popular TV series of the decade and one of the best shows on the platform. Pablo Escobar 's depiction of the drug empire in Colombia will be a major source of inspiration for GTA VI.
GTA VI will likely focus on a hero raising ranks in a cartel and building their empire.
