Recommended Gear: Use your strengths for the first Valkyrie fight. Gunnr is the easiest of the bunch so you can find the technique that works best for you as you get a taste of what these unique fights look like. Prefer a defensive Kratos? Use gear that boosts your defensive stat or boost all your points if you prefer to punch Gunnr.
Now is also a good time to test which talisman you want to use for your fights. The Reaml Shift charm is a solid option. As you get used to the speed of these Valkyries, slowing time at key points of their attacks can make the difference between life and death.
Other attacks include a slash with a scythe, which is also surprising. Atreus can sometimes stun him before landing. Use Shock Arrows to block his weak attacks and dashes so you can follow up on your Runic attacks while he's vulnerable. Do not try to use Runic attacks while Gunnr is charging, you will take unnecessary damage even if you replenish the power.
As long as you keep the Valkyrie busy with Atreus' arrows and watch out for attacks that take advantage of her stuns, you can lower her health over time. Keep in mind that if your health decreases, it will drop health stones when you damage it. You can use Spartan Rage to increase health or use immunity to safely get some health stones.
Kara can summon additional level 4 Draugr for Kratos to deal with; this is more of a pain and a distraction than a challenge, especially as the fight drags on and the Shield, Speed and Ranged Draugr start to roll in.
You must work quickly so that you can continue to focus on Kara. Battling the Draugr using Runic AOE attacks, and Blades of Chaos can ensure that all targets are hit and destroyed, even if they do less damage. Make sure you never take your eyes off the Valkyrie so you can be ready to dodge or flee at any moment.
If you've also upgraded Atreus' arrows, you can use him as a helper to run them quickly. Shock Arrows with Chain works wonders here, just like Runic Summons that block or damage enemies over a wide area.
Wait for Kara to come to you and be prepared to block and fend off all incoming attacks and if possible direct them to the Valkyrie. Spells that give you an advantage when you take cover are also useful here, given the amount of opportunities you have to use.
This Valkyrie uses a varying amount of attacks, taking some cues from both Kara and Gunnr, but giving her own spin on change attacks, dashing quickly.
He has a lot of unblockable attacks to watch out for and can quickly pull off after a few normal wing strikes or sending his wingtips to you. Watch out for a swift take on a wing strike and back away immediately.
His most terrifying abilities come from the air with two different attack methods. If you see him soaring with his arms on a prepared and unstoppable attack, have Atreus immediately shoot an arrow to stun him, otherwise he will unleash a massive, damaging cloud of smoke that cannot be avoided.
Because he loves to move back and forth, it can be difficult to keep him still for attacks. Have Atreus continue to feed him with Shock Arrows, but always leave one open to stop his blinding attack. Stunning Runic Summons can slow him down long enough for you to get a good combo streak.
This is a very reactive fight, so don't be afraid to slow down and keep shooting arrows until he gets close. Talismans that activate Realm Shift are also extremely helpful in this situation.
Become a fast fighter and you may need to keep up with his quick attacks with your own light attacks. Olrun will alternate between dealing an unstoppable blow from her right flank or a close rotary wing attack that can be deadly if not blocked.
If he dashes out of range, he'll either follow up with an inward dash or a different spin attack that fires a few projectiles at you. When he does, be prepared because he may shout "Valhalla" and fly into the air, in which case you need to dodge quickly to avoid his unstoppable grip. The most important thing to remember when facing Olrun is to always move to the right and be ready to run in the same direction to avoid her red blow.
Most of Olrun's other attacks are blockable, just remember to block his flanking attack, then be prepared to dodge right to avoid the unblockable pursuit blade. If you have Talisman that allow Realm Shift, consider using them to get past his attacks and unleash Runic Attacks when time slows to make sure he can't escape.
Eir likes to defend herself with her wings, and if you hit her twice while in this stance she'll hit you with a deadly counterattack. Break this protection with Runic Attack.
When the giant slams at you with his mace, be prepared to flee to avoid it exploding, then be prepared to flee again to avoid his follow-up attack.
When he levitates and spins his weapon, have Atreus shoot him with an arrow immediately to interrupt his unstoppable explosion that will sometimes directly kill you.
The most important thing to remember against Eir is that you never want to corner yourself. Always have a place to escape from the sides or from behind. A mistake or two is all it takes to gain the upper hand.
Gondul has some twists on his usual Valkyrie tricks. Like Eir, she can blow up while yelling "Valhalla". He also has the unique ability to knock down three fireballs in a straight line, inflicting permanent AoE damage on the ground. Having spells that reduce fire damage can help you survive in the long run.
Gondul will use other familiar Valkyrie tactics, either with an unblockable blade to the right or launching projectiles using his wings before following with a spinning attack. Like Eir, Goldur has a double mace attack where you have to dodge backwards for the first hit and then switch to the follow side. He can also levitate for a massive unstoppable attack, so always be ready to zip him at Atreus.
As always, keep moving to the right to avoid being hit by his dashing blade. Be especially wary of his dashing blast and follow the attack and never get cornered.
The route is like a powered version of Olrun. He has some very dangerous unblockable attacks, including a new flying raid maneuver that will grab Kratos and drag him across the ground, dealing massive damage.
It also uses neck kicks three times in a row, so make sure you're on the alert and ready to dodge it all three times.
Hildr herself is actually a fairly weak Valkyrie with relatively easy to block and counter moves and a small health bar.
However, the difficulty is that you must first find him in Niflheim, then kill him before he succumbs to the deadly fog. Take a few runs in Niflheim so you can open chests in the warehouse and equip spells that will keep you alive longer in the fog.
The main new attack to watch out for is the ice attack, which must be blocked and avoided when it finally fires that giant icicle.
After defeating all the other Valkyries and obtaining their helmets, head back to the Council of Valkyries on the north side of Lake of Nine and look for a throne area opposite the bridge where you can place each helmet. Do this and the challenge to defeat the Valkyrie Queen will open.
Sigrun has almost every maneuver that the other 8 Valkyries have. You need to apply everything you've learned up to this point.

Kratos' armor depends on how you play, but it's usually best to use a mix of Ivaldi's set armor. Vision is key in this fight, all of Sigrun 's greatest attacks involve her blowing up. To make sure you can spot and avoid them, stay away from him for most of the fight and keep your back close to the wall.
Then, when you successfully dodge the attack combo, it will pause to heal for a second, giving you a chance to start your combo. You can start with a heavy attack, then discard your current Runic abilities. To make the most of these openings, make sure you have fast Runic attacks that put this chain together well. Runic attacks are also a great way to break the flank shield if you use it on your first heavy attack.
Atreaus' arrows do not damage Sigrun , so don't bother to manipulate him during combat. Its calling isn't all that effective either, so the best option is usually Ratatoskr. Wolves also help break their combo from time to time, but it's hard to give up the chance to get extra health from the squirrel. If you equip Ratatoskr, be sure to only seek it when you plan to use health, otherwise it will disappear after a while.
Instead of dealing extra damage, consider using your anger as a safe way to collect health crystals. While Spartan Rage is active, Kratos can't take damage, so the meter just goes down instead of taking damage, it's also a great way to cancel one of Sigrun's attacks. Detonate Rage to knock him down, then cancel to save the rage for later.
