God of War Ragnarok has been one of the most anticipated video games in the last few years. The sequel to the critically acclaimed 2018 game will bring the curtains down on the Scandinavian saga of the long-running series. Announced in September 2020, the game originally had a release date earlier than 2021.
Unfortunately, it had to be delayed due to the impact of the severe global pandemic and health issues of the protagonist Kratos' voice actor. The head of PlayStation Studios stated that they will "postpone it to 2022 to ensure Santa Monica Studio can best deliver the amazing God of War game we all want to play." But half of 2022 has already passed, and there is no confirmed release date for God of War Ragnarok yet .
The developers have shared more details and information about the game, but the launch date remains uncertain.

Earlier in the year, a Santa Monica developer had assured that the game would "come this year" and was said to be out by the end of September. In the post published on Twitter by PlayStation Game Size, it is stated that the God of War 5 release date has changed from September 30 to December 31.

God of War , one of the biggest games on PS4 , tells the action-packed story of Kratos and his son Atreus, inspired by Scandinavian mythology, based on its roots in Greek mythology. Ragnarok will bring Kratos and his son Atreus back to Midgard and tell of Baldur's death and Thor's impending arrival at the end of the three-year Fimbulwinter that began in the last game.
The developers of the game, Santa Monica Studios, wrote a story explaining how the Norse Gods perished and covering a continuing chain of events from the deaths of the Aesir and Baldur who fell under Kratos' ax .
Developer Sony Santa Monica described God of War Ragnarok in September 2021 as the "final" of Kratos' Norse saga, and continued; “Kratos and Atreus will have to make a choice about which path to take together. Whatever they choose, Ragnarök will decide the fate of all who live in the Nine Realms as they approach."
A new character Thor will also appear in Ragnarok . No information has yet been shared about Thor, which has already caused quite a stir on social media. But still, fans have been waiting for a long time for the arrival of Ragnarok, the Norse mythological event that will bring the end of the days and death of many Norse gods.
