Fortnite Season 5 started with a distinct historical theme. As we'd guess from the Scandinavian ax teaser, Viking gear plays a big part this season, including the ultimate XP chase. The legendary "Ragnarok" series is a level 100 Battle Pass reward, but it also allows you to customize your appearance as you level it up, provided you unlock it first.
Reaching level 100 is not an easy feat in itself; Epic estimates it takes 75-150 hours to unlock everything the Battle Pass has to offer. Once you're there, you can accumulate XP to unlock six different styles; each allows you to obtain several other pieces of armor, kits or facial cosmetics as you progress. You start out as a tough-looking but otherwise standard warrior, eventually dressing up as a terrifying ghost.
This season also introduces a number of other changes, such as a Terrain Pass to transport your team, a host of new changes and additions to the map, motion controls on Switch, auto-fire on mobile, and more.
