Destiny 2 Graphics Options And FPS Enhancement

Destiny 2 Graphics Options And FPS Enhancement
We have shared some useful information for you!

The PC version of Destiny 2 has been tuned specifically for the platform and created to provide a full description and side-by-side comparison of each graphic option. Nvidia took charge of this job in a blog post that appeared on the company's official website today. It even gave internal benchmark results that tested the framerate difference between all the different settings.

We should also add that multi-instance anti-aliasing (MSAA) was eliminated from the anti-aliasing options that were causing problems in terms of performance and image quality in last month's PC beta. However, everything else seen in the beta will be in the final game.

Graphic options are as follows:

  • Solution
  • V-sync (30 FPS, 60 FPS, Off)
  • Field of View (55 - 105)
  • Anti-aliasing (FXAA, SMAA,)
  • Ambient Occlusion (HDAO, 3D)
  • Texture Distribution (Anisotropic Filtering, up to 16x)
  • Texture quality
  • Shadow quality
  • depth of field
  • Environmental Detail Distance
  • Character Detail Distance
  • Foliage Detail Distance
  • Foliage Shadow Distance
  • Light Shafts
  • motion blur
  • Wind power
  • Resolution Resolution
  • High Dynamic Range (HDR)

Nvidia notes some options that will provide the most noticeable increase in framerate without significantly affecting visual quality. This is especially useful on systems that struggle with maximum settings. Based on the company's tests using a GTX 1060 GPU (6GB) and Intel Core i7-6700K CPU (4.6GHz) at 1080p, the following suggested:

  • Turning off "Depth Field" gave an extra 4 FPS.
  • Going from 105 to 95 "FOV" saved 2.4 FPS.
  • Added "Green Detail Distance" from High to Medium 4.1 FPS
  • Using HDAO instead of 3D for "Ambient Occlusion" increased the frame rate by 5.4 FPS.
  • High "Shadow Quality" instead of High saves about 4.1 FPS.

Note: Using media gives a 9.4 FPS increase from Peak.

As you can see from Nvidia 's test results and in-depth analysis, some visual striking effects don't actually affect performance. There are also interactive screenshot comparisons for every possible option. On October 24, when Destiny 2 launches for PC, you'll be able to do it yourself.
