Vanguard , Valorant 's anti-cheat software , made an interesting appearance when it banned a player during a match . Pro Valorant player and Twitch partner streamer Amanda "Rain" Smith of the all-female Dignitas roster tweeted about the Vanguard ban she received in the middle of an opponent's practice match.

The player in question, whose in-game name is "ReFelcktions", was caught by Vanguard for using third-party software on Valorant and was immediately banned from HWID mid-match. More surprisingly, the player was placed 7th on the North American Valorant leaderboard at the time of suspension. Vanguard, which has been working non-stop since the launch of Valorant in June 2020, has banned more than 4,500 fraudulent accounts.

It is quite difficult to determine whether someone is actually using third-party software in Valorant . With the smurf account rate going on in the game , there is no limit to the total number of accounts Valorant currently has and offers. Former CS:GO pro player and current Team Liquid Valorant roster, Adil "ScreaM" Benrlitom, claims there are more cheats in Valorant than appear. Therefore, it is difficult to say whether Vanguard's anti-cheat policies have made the competitive environment of the game healthier. But if there is one thing we are sure of, it is that Riot Games will take all the necessary precautions and offer a fair gaming environment. We have no doubt about it.
