Is Viper the New Preference of Professional Gamers?

Viper's selection rate increased in Valorant. It is also thought that an improvement work has been done for the Viper. Further increases in Viper picks can be observed if a remediation work is provided.

Valorant 's controlling agent, Viper , has recently become the pro gamer's choice on the Icebox and Bind maps . Viper , who received a total of five buffs after the game was officially released , had a noticeable decrease in selection rates despite the buffs. The interpretation that players are biased not only against Viper but also against controller agents in general can be based on the fact that controller agent Brimstone was almost never chosen in the North American First Strike tournament.

So much so that Viper was also selected by professional players in the First Strike Europe tournament by 92% for Icebox and 50% for Bind, but was almost never selected for the aforementioned maps in the  North American First Strike tournament .A recent video suggests that a new Viper meta has become the best option for pro players, especially on the Icebox and Bind maps.

During the time since Valorant 's launch, Viper has not always been favored by players as it always requires higher skill and gameplay experience. As a result of the statistics obtained, he became the least selected agent of Valorant with 10%.

Riot Games developers cited Viper's extremely low pick rate. In the Chapter 2 Act 1 patch notes , the developers discussed Viper's poor performance. While it didn't receive any changes at the time, the developers promised to tweak it to improve the pick rate. Recently on social media and gamer community sites, Viper has quickly become a standout choice for professional gamers in Icebox and Bind. We think that with an improvement work on Viper, the selection rate will be very high.
