The surprise indie game Among Us has grown to an impressive number of players over the past few weeks, and developer InnerSloth says it's working on implementing new features and options for the multiplayer game. A recent update to the Among Us beta foreshadowed some of the upcoming changes, with significant ramifications for cheaters and other players alike. Although there are no official patch notes yet, Among Usplayers have put together an unofficial list of new features in the game's subreddit. These are like arranging the cable task to make it more accessible for colorblind players (making each cable have its own shape instead of just one color to distinguish). However, it gives game owners more options to transform the gaming experience, including making voting anonymous and making the taskbar appear only at certain times. Both of these changes theoretically make cheaters easier to spot, but it's up to the server creator to decide whether to use them.

Several colorblind players have already expressed their confusion about changing cables, and a post's top comment: "Colorblind support for cables is great but ... I need help with team colors." This beta update is only available on PC and you must subscribe to the beta version of the game to access it.

InnerSloth stated that it is considering other major changes to the game, including turning potentially dead players into "guardian angels" to give them something to do. When InnerSloth exploded on game streaming platforms Among Uswas planning to release a sequel, which caused the studio to cancel Among Us 2 and Between Us 2 to focus on making the base game better.
