Valorant: Players will receive a minor reset in their rank level

Ranked rank holders will have their rank repositioned after Valorant Act 2 goes live. They will have to play 3 base matches to reach a level.

In yesterday's blog post, Valorant senior producer at Riot Games , Ian " BRIGHTEYZ " Fielding , spoke at length about the changes the Ranked system will receive in Act 2. One of the most important changes coming to Valorant , according to the developers , is the rank reset that players will face at the end of each Act.

Valorant developers state:

“With each EVALUATION Act, we plan to introduce a host of new content alongside balance changes.

As the game evolves, we want to give both new and returning players the opportunity to come back and see how the results of their skills stack up.

New Law: Here's what happens at the end of a Competition Act:

Your previous Rank will be saved and locked in your Career tab.

1 Action Competitive data will be recorded. You will be put back in the shortened placements. We will reference your MMR from the previous Act,

so we can quickly assess your ability for current Law.

your rank will be a placement that we are confident you can compete at this skill level or higher.

Valorant Ranked players will have to play a three-game exhibition match every two months to be placed in a ranked tier.

However, unlike Law 1's 5-match concept, this one will play out a little differently. Ranking in the Prior Law and the secret MMR system will now play a big role in your placements. "Typically, your Match Ranking will go down several times from where you ended the previous Law, but we also weigh performance in your early games so play well and win," said the Valorant developers.

Valorant Act 2 is likely to hit servers on August 4th. However, there is no announced date yet.
