Valorant: Players discover new game mode in Icebox

Valorant's new map, Icebox, has added horizontal ziplines to the game. Players have now created an innovative mini-zipline-jostling game using the new feature.

Valorant's Act 3 update, released by Riot Games on October 13 , brought a number of new additions to the game apart from the new map. These changes include:

Map fixes for already existing maps

Update on Competition Act 2 with the introduction of Law Ranking

Increased the number of players in DeathMatch from 10 to 14 players

Quality of life changes

Alongside these changes , Riot Games also announced the arrival of its new Representative, Skye, scheduled to hit the game on October 27.

Meanwhile, Riot Games' description of the Icebox map in the official patch notes is as follows:

"Each Icebox zone is a complex battlefield with plenty of cover and verticality. This map emphasizes combat, sniping and adaptive gameplay. There's also a zipline that enhances the fast movement and vertical feel."

"... the map will be playable in Unrated, Spike Rush and Deathmatch modes. We will continue to optimize performance on the map and fix any bugs that may arise. If all goes well, Icebox will be playable on the Competitive roster later on October 27."

Here are some of the features of the new map in Valorant, according to Riot Games :

Earlier in the update, more players who queued for Unrated will be placed in the Icebox.

Ascendants (Ropes) / Wire Ropes.

Acceleration has been adjusted to avoid sudden shifts in direction (this patch was added before, but not in the patch notes because the ziplines didn't exist yet.)

The addition of the aforementioned ziplines to Valorant caused players to have some fun turning the zipline into a match point between the two teams.

Players invent new game mode from ziplines in Valorant's Icebox

Some players at Valorant took the zipline a little too seriously for inventing a funny game in Icebox . The game mode discovered by the player took place on the zipline in zone A. Opponents face each other in a blade-to-death combat reminiscent of medieval jousting.

Icebox has a horizontal zipline as opposed to the vertical zipline already available in Valorant. This horizontal zipline gave players the idea to engage in a medieval joust with blades.

The game mode has become so popular that even the Valorant News Twitter account tweeted acknowledging the new game discovered by players.

However, it's also unclear whether the developers will make any changes to the ziplines before they hit the competitive scene with the launch of Skye on October 27.
