Valorant 4.03 Patch Notes: Brimstone Update

Let's take a look at the Valorant 4.03 patch notes, as well as the changes made in the last patch of Chapter 4 Part 1.

The Valorant patch notes are where the meta and gameplay in general are balanced and as many bugs get resolved as possible. Patch 4.03 introduced major changes to the Battle for Life and Brimstone's ultimate ability. In addition, several bug fixes, improvements to the AFK detection system, and the option to return to the most powerful weapon in your inventory have been added to the game with the new update.

Valorant 4.03 Patch Note Details

Brimstone

• Brimstone's ultimate now properly blocks in-game vision when active.
• You will no longer see your enemies on the minimap during the ultimate.
• Abilities that require sight (blinding grenades, Sova's Recon Arrow, etc.) can no longer be cast during the ultimate.

Mod Updates

Battle of Death

• We've removed "dangerous" spawn points and relocated some of them.
• We've improved the spawn logic and spawn location to increase your chances of encountering all other players in combat.
• The spawn logic will now give importance to your spawn in a place far from where you died.
• The bug that caused the spawn logic to not work correctly during the warm-up phase has been fixed.
  - Spawn time decreased: 3 sec >>> 1.5 sec

Social Updates

• The AFK detection system has been updated to deter players from abusing game mods to gain experience points.

Performance Updates

General Invalidity

• Global Override increases base performance by 15% in games for CPU-based players.
• Players playing on the processor generally use medium and high-level systems.
• This data was collected from Open Beta (PBE) over two weekends (January 22-23, February 5-6).
• While we expect the majority of gamers to take advantage of this feature, the level of impact may differ depending on the performance of your computer.

Cosmetic Ingredient Updates

• The color of the squares on the page where the sprays appear in your collection has changed.
• Some of the sprays were very similar to the background color and were not very clear unless used in-game.

Game Systems Updates

• Added the option to return to the strongest weapon.
• When you press the "Equip Last Used Item" button or auto-equip a weapon, you will be able to auto-equip the strongest weapon you have.
• To turn this option on: Select the "Prioritize Strongest Weapon" setting from the Settings >>> Controls >>> Equipment tab.
• Although this feature was added to the game in patch 4.02, it was not added in the patch notes. Don't worry!

Esports Features

• Fixed projectile tracking feature for Observers.
• Added a setting to toggle agent portrait in observer options.

Errors

• Fixed a bug where items from Chamber's Headhunter and Sharp Style abilities would float in midair.
• Fixed a bug in certain squad rosters that could allow players to see through the Viper's ult and not be affected by the vision restriction debuff.
• Fixed the Viper's ultimate not extending into doors in some cases.

Social

• Fixed a bug where pressing Enter before the game would not open the chat.
• Fixed a bug that prevented the options menu from opening when right-clicking on the player portrait.

Performance

• Fixed a bug that could cause performance attributes to be hidden while watching Spike.
