Valorant 4.02 Patch Notes: AFK Detection System

The biggest changes in Valorant patch 4.02 are; AFK Detection System Improvement and Reporting in Agent Selection Screen.

Like other major Riot Games franchises, Valorant is constantly coming out with patches . This is because to keep the game as balanced as possible and to add more content to keep fans engaged.

The biggest changes in patch 4.02 are probably the social changes. AFK players are a big problem in almost every game, but in a game like Valorant where being a missing player is a big disadvantage, boosting AFK detection will be very helpful. Another important improvement is the ability to report on the agent selection screen. This was originally set in League of Legends and has seen some success. It's never been easier to report players holding the lobby hostage or choosing other players' characters just to troll.

Performance Updates

• Windowed Fullscreen mode has been improved to have a latency close to Fullscreen mode.
  - These improvements work in harmony with the in-game interface, but you cannot benefit from this improvement efficiently when another program's window is open on the game window.

Social Updates

• AFK Detection System Improvement
  - Improved methods of detecting behaviors for not participating in the game.
• Reporting in Agent Selection Screen
  - There seems to be some confusion about reporting in the agent selection screen. Remember, you can report players for negative behavior by right-clicking on them before the game!

Errors

• Fixed an issue where the glow effect around the Spectrum Z logo would appear right next to the trigger during the second inspect animation for the Bulldog weapon special.
• Fixed an issue where Killjoy was unable to pick up his grounded Alert Bot and turrets after being revived by Sage.

In a competitive game like Valorant, these quality of life changes may not seem like a big deal in the short term.
