Riot Focuses on Energy Champions in LoL 12.15 Patch

Riot Games has summarized the changes forupcoming 12.15 patch ; Energy champions get buffs, Master Yi and Taliyah get nerfs. The last few patches, specifically the patch 12.10 Endurance update and the previous patch 12.14's dragon buffs and healing outlier nerfs havepretty much changed the entire League of Legends meta .

Matches are now all long teamfights and progress towards the end of the game. Many players consider these "good" changes, and some even call them the "best" changes Riot has implemented in modern League of Legends.

Riot made many changes in the previous major patch , update 12.14 . As such, some champions had to come out "strong" and some had to struggle to keep them alive in the meta. And to keep the game balanced, League of Legends Principal Designer Riot Phroxzon shared the changes in the upcoming 12.15 patch notes ; They focus on tuning Energy Champions Zed, Lee Sin, Akali, Kennen, and Shen.

These are mostly champions whose energy costs can't keep up with their post-game stamina; We like where Kennen's energy costs are, so we 're polishing something else instead."

What's Changing in LoL 12.15 Patch?

Rammus, Lillia, Singed, Leona, and Thresh are getting some buffs in patch notes 12.15 . On the other hand, Master Yi, who recently received some major nerfs, is also planned to receive more nerfs in the new LoL patch, along with Qiyana, Sivir, Gwen, Taliyah, and Kalista.

The Endurance update has completely turned League of Legends around and its impact is still felt. Healing has been a big priority for Riot in patches since then, but in the 12.15 update their focus is shifting slightly to energy champions.

Realizing that as the fights drag on, the energy champions are depleting their resources much faster than anyone else, Riot makes Akali, Kennen, Lee Sin, Shen and Zed the main subjects of this patch to keep things even. Akali and Shen have increased energy returns on their W and E respectively, while Zed and Lee Sin lower their base energy costs.

Patch 12.15 Empowered Champions

For buffs, Riot has five more champions in sight: Lillia, Singed, Rammus, Leona, and Thresh. This will lead to some changes to the support and jungle meta, but nothing too drastic as Riot is looking for bigger pre-season changes for all roles.

Patch 12.15's Weakened Champions

None of the attenuations are too serious. They range from basic stat changes (less AD for Kalista) to cooldown adjustments (Taliyah and Sivir). The update pushes champions midway instead of swinging them too far from the meta. The trio of champions will be joined by Master Yi and the recently empowered Qiyana and pro gaming core Kalista.
