PUBG Mobile has come a long way. The game already has many features and content added in the past months. With that much content, the game is pretty clunky with 2GB worth of game data right now. Developers have a new solution for this ever increasing PUBG Mobile file size introducing Lightweight Mod.
Not to be confused with PUBG Lite, this mod will compress the game to 70% of its original file size and make little or no noticeable changes to graphics and gameplay. You will need to download the installation package available on the official PUBG Mobile website to 600 MB.
Whether you are a new or existing player, your progress will not change. If you want to switch between graphics qualities, there will also be different packages, ranging from 320 MB Low Spec to 580 MB High Quality resource packs. These resource packs are compressed to keep the file size small and the game as fluid as possible.
Players will have the option to download or remove map resources as they wish. The Erangel Metro Map is the only resource map that you cannot remove as it is the default map that everyone will have. These changes will allow players to keep the file size small until they want to play on a particular map.
The new feature also detects resources you haven't used in the past few months and sends you notifications. This new feature gives you the option to remove these resources until you need them, or keep them if you wish. These resources are mostly different resources that enhance the game experience and do not change the core gameplay of the game.
