PUBG Mobile World Invitational (PMWI) 2022 has been officially announced. Sony Xperia, the official smartphone partner of the game, became the sponsor of the event. PMWI 2022, where teams from all over the world will compete, will be the biggest PUBG Mobile invitational event to date.
Tencent announced on Thursday, June 30, that the 2022 tournament will feature a massive $7 million prize pool , including PMGC ($4 million) and PMWI . PMWI 2022, a $3 million event, is scheduled for August 11-20.

PMWI 2022 's features were announced by PUBG Mobile Global Esports Director James Yang. In two weeks, the Main Event and the After Party game will take place. During the first week, which will take place between 11-13 August, there will be a total of 18 invited teams .
The After Party Showdown will take place in week two, running from August 18 to August 20. This week's competition will use a new structure that will feature 12 teams. Week two will host a competition between the top five teams from Week 1 and six teams from the selected region, along with a special invitation. The total prize pool of the first week will be $2 million, and the prize pool for the second week will be $1 million.
PUBG Mobile World Invitational will be played in two weeks at a LAN event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. On this occasion, PUBG Mobile collaborated with Gamers8 and ESL.
Week 1 (Main Tournament)
The first week will take place from August 11 to August 13, and 18 invited teams will compete for the $2 million prize pool and the top five Week 2 slots.
Week 2 (After-Party Showdown)
Week two will feature a new format featuring a 12-team lobby. Six teams from selected regions and one special invitation, and the top five teams of Week 1 will compete for the one million dollar prize pool. This second week will take place from 18 to 20 August.

While 17 out of 18 teams were invited to PMWI 2022 via country/region championships, Falcon Esports from Saudi Arabia was invited as the host country.
Morph GGG has signed the former ION Esports roster that won the PMPL 2022 Indonesian Spring. Back2Back was founded by the former XSET roster and they have won the previous two seasons of PMPL North America.
RSG from China won the PEL 2022 Spring Season and is one of the biggest contenders for the PMWI trophy. Stalwart Esports won the PMPL South Asian Spring and SA Championship. This team has been dominating the region for the past year.
Having signed a new roster earlier this year, Team Soul claimed the BMPS Season 1 crown. The Omega led side is a fan favorite team in India and it will be interesting to see their performance at the event.
