Netflix has confirmed all new TV shows and movies coming to the streaming network in April, and the 1995 original live-action Mortal Kombat movie is among the new additions.
The movie, which is among the first video game movies, starts on April 1 and no, this is not an April Fool's joke. Here is a message from Netflix announcing the addition of Mortal Kombat.

Mortal Kombat is directed by Paul WS Anderson. He went on to direct the billion-dollar grossing Resident Evil series starring actress Milla Jovovich, to whom he was married. Anderson is also directing the movie Monster Hunter , which will hit theaters later this year .
The original Mortal Kombat movie earned $122 million worldwide in 1995 and was watched worldwide in 1997.
Mortal Kombat stars Christopher Lambert as Raiden and Robin Shou as Liu Kang and Linden Ashby as Johnny Cage . Talisa Soto plays Kitana .
A new Mortal Kombat movie shot in Australia is expected to hit theaters in January 2021 (assuming theaters reopen by then). The film is directed by Aquaman director James Wan and directed by Australian advertising director Simon McQuoid.
