LoL World Championship 2022: Dates | Locations | Placement

Riot has released the dates, venues and placements reserved for the 2022 World Championship.

The Worlds 2022 date has finally been confirmed by Riot. The tournament will kick off on September 29 in Mexico Citywith the Qualifiers . For the first time, we will have different locations in different countries that will host parts of the tournamentUnfortunately, Canada was denied as a destination due to restrictions. Regardless, World Championship 2022 will be the most important return to the offline scene as fans are expected to be there. Here's what we know so far. |

LoL World Championship 2022 Date and Venue

• Qualifiers : September 29 - October 4, Arena Esports Stadium, Artz Pedregal, Mexico City/Mexico.
  - Group Stage : October 7-10 and October 13-16, Hulu Theatre, Madison Square Garden, New York/USA.
• Quarter Finals : October 20-23, Hulu Theatre, Madison Square Garden, New York/USA.
• Semi-Finals : October 29-30, State Farm Arena, Atlanta, Georgia/USA.
• Final : November 5, Chase Center, San Francisco, California/USA.

Since the announcement came months ago, we already knew where the Finals would be held. The dates have been confirmed and we can look forward to the celebration of one of the best month-long esports tournaments .

It is known information that the LCL will be missing in the tournament. Thus, Europe will receive four teams for the 2022 World Championship due to their performance in the last two years . This will round the number of teams in the tournament to twenty-four. The placements were divided into two stages as pre-elimination and group stages.

LoL Worlds 2022 Teams: Qualifiers

Twelve teams will participate in the League of Legends World Championship qualifying matches . These will include LCK and LPL's fourth, LEC's third/fourth, and LCS's third-placement. Also, the LEC will have two teams in the qualifiers. The pre-qualifying placements are as follows.

• China (LPL) - 4th Place
• Korea (LCK) - 4th Place
• Europe (LEC) - 3rd and 4th Place
• North America (LCS) - 3rd Place
• Southeast Asia (PCS) - 2nd Place
• Vietnam (VCS) - 2nd Place
• Brazil (CBLOL) - 1st Place
• Japan (LJL) - 1st Place
• Latin America (LLA) - 1st Place
• Oceania (LCO) - 1st Place
• Türkiye (CL) - 1st Place

We are not sure what the format will be as there will be 12 teams in Worlds two years from now . We can now return to four groups of three teams or stick to two groups of 6. Only time will tell.

LoL Worlds 2022 Teams: Group Stage

The remaining twelve teams will take part in the group stage. These are as follows:

• China (LPL) - 1st, 2nd and 3rd Places
• Korea (LCK) - 1st, 2nd and 3rd Places
• Europe (LEC) - 1st and 2nd Places
• North America (LCS) - 1st and 2nd Places
• Southeast Asia (PCS) - 1st Place
• Vietnam (VCS) - 1st Place

We can assume that the group stage will remain largely the same. Therefore, we expect these teams to be divided into four groups, with four teams from the preliminaries participating in each group.

When will LoL World Championship/Worlds 2022 start?

The 2022  World Championship , the biggest of the League of Legends esports tournaments , will begin on Thursday, September 29 and conclude with the final match to be held in San Francisco on Saturday, November 5th
