Half of Valorant's Cheaters Are Unreported by Players

This shows the importance of the reporting system, the details are in the article.

As popular titles are trending more and more towards a free-to-play model, concerns about cheating have surfaced, particularly in competitive shooter games. Riot 's popular shooter Valorant is no exception, and a new blog post from the game's anti-cheat system gives some new details about the Vanguard system, which protects against cheaters in the world. The blog post says player reports are still the most powerful weapon in Riot 's arsenal, with Vanguard automatically banning players who explicitly use third-party software, and frequently runs a "high-intensity game integrity scan" to reported players. Riotit also implements a manual review process against the most suspicious players, especially those using cheats that have not yet been detected by Vanguard. The post also shows that Riot uses the number of overall reports as a benchmark for Valorant 's competitive health. So what does this mean? If there are too many reports, it means that people are not happy with the game and something needs to be fixed.

The blog ends on some interesting data points: for example, 97% of Valorant players never receive a single report, and only 0.3% receive 3 or more reports. The numbers also show that reports are not always the best indicator of whether a player is actually cheating: only 53% of banned cheaters were reported before they were banned. Indeed, cheaters are walking among us, hiding before our eyes. Valorant recently released the Act 2 patch, which adds a new agent and a deathmatch mode to the game. The latest patch weakened the game's shotgun, making it less accurate when firing into the air. vanguardThe anti-cheat system was skeptical of many gamers as it should start at boot of your computer and run in the background while playing games. But this is completely safe and only required for game safety.
