Square Enix is still moving forward with Final Fantasy VII Remake 's April 10 release date on PlayStation 4 , after assessing the global impact of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak . However, the company could be disbanded in a way that the spread of the virus will cause problems for those looking for physical copies of the game.
According to FFVII Remake 's official Twitter statement, "unforeseen changes in distribution and retail" have made it more likely that fans will not be able to receive physical copies of the game on April 10. Square Enix said it would provide more information in March.
