During QuakeCon , Bethesda and Id Software introduced the new Battlemode multiplayer mode for Doom Eternal . In this mode, you can take on the role of the classic "Slayer" Doomguy or one of the five Demons with various abilities and upgrades. 3-player mode, Slayer versus two Demons. The Slayer is armed with weapons, mods, and gear, but must take down Demons to replenish resources like ammo and health. Demons have their own special abilities, such as the ability to see through walls and summon AI-controlled demons and hazards.
After defeating the Demon controlled by a player, the Slayer has 20 seconds to find and eliminate the other. The matches will be played as the best of five, that is, the best in 5 rounds. As the rounds pass, players can increase their abilities. Plus Demons can summon stronger demons and the Slayer can get a BFG.
Among the Demons announced so far are a Revenant with a special rocket, a jetpack and shoulder-mounted rocket; a Pain Elemental that can fly and track the Slayer; A Mancubus with heavy artillery and flamethrowers for very heavy kills at the expense of mobility.
