Call of Duty: Warzone players heard mysterious and eerie sounds while playing games last week. The sound of children laughing in the distance, along with other spooky sounds in different parts of the map, is the battle royale's first seasonal event, "the Haunting of Verdansk." It created great excitement for
The Haunting of Verdansk will be Warzone's first seasonal event and could bring new ideas to Verdansk. While few details about Haunting of Verdansk have been officially confirmed, players believe a night mode, zombies, and other spooky surprises will arrive in Warzone on October 20 , when the event begins.
One of the biggest potential changes will be a night mode that puts Verdansk under a moonlit sky. The mod was showcased for a few moments in the Season 6 trailer, as shown in the video below. Warzone players have been asking for a night mode for months now and hope it's not limited to a limited-time mode. Night mode is one of the few changes that players are sure to come, but they're hoping for more environmental changes to come with the event. Fan suggestions include more subtle sounds, such as fog and ghostly noises that randomly appear on the map to give certain buildings a haunted feel.
Evidence of a zombie royale mod was also found in the game's files. We don't know how the mod works beyond that though. Leaked information suggests that zombies will be added to Verdansk as a method of respawning, where NPCs or players become zombies after they die, including "zombies are not affected by gas". This won't be the first time zombies have been included in a CoD wargame. Haunting of Verdansk will run from 20 October to 3 November . This is just one piece of Infinity Ward's Warzone Season 6 roadmap.
