Firaxis and 2K noted that as of the Spring update, two new civs are on the way, and Civilization VI fans have a lot to look forward to in the near future.
Only one of the two civs, Persian, has been announced now. As seen in the video above, Byril's fall class is led by Cyrus II, also known as Cyrus the Great. This provides a bonus move to all Persian units after declaring a surprise war. Doing so results in less diplomatic punishment than for other societies.
Persia contains the unique Immortal unit. It replaces this soldier, described as the "elite heavy base trooper", and offers both strong defense and, more interestingly, a range of attacks.
Persia's unique ability grants him bonuses for internal trade routes as well as internal trade routes when political philosophy is unlocked. Alongside the unique Pairidaeza tile improvement that provides culture, gold and reputation, there are additional bonuses for being next to townships and city centers.
If you have the Deluxe Edition of Civilization VI , it will be automatically active when launched, although no date is given for the Persia DLC . A price for everyone hasn't been announced, but it may only come as part of a new duo Civilization & Scenario Pack , the other new Civilization .
We didn't find many details regarding the upcoming Spring update, with Firaxis simply saying that the free patch provides "balance changes, multiplayer changes and bug fixes" for all players. Click to buy Civilization VI
